Turn 10 is probably where I would have thought it was over for me, if I were in Duke's position. I would have better secured my hold over West and Central Russia. And by better I mean worse, which is probably why my ladder rank is so low...
I'm glad you posted this game here. I often forget to go back to games once they've autoaurrendered (I have it set to games where I haven't been eliminated) and I wanted to watch the history/read Fred's comments.
I think I ranted to Ruthless about how stupid I felt for not defending Iran once I went for expanding into Asia. There was enough income in Asia to have held Iran and eventually won through superior income. Once I failed to block Iran it took considerable luck to win. Basically I needed to get by Fred and into West Africa and hodl onto my bonuses in Asia -- which required Fred to move out of Brazil and go toward West China before Central Russia. I caught both breaks and turned it around.
Duke, that's why it's important to always say gg when you surrender, so the person you're surrendering too realizes the game won't be popping up anytime soon *presuming they use where it's my turn/unread messages* lol
