Marijuana is not a saintly substance either, but because alcohol is more widely used, it is more dangerous to us because the likelihood of us being affected by it is much greater.

Alcohol is Completely fine in moderation and enjoyable.

However someone excessively drinking (ie getting completely fucked off there face just shows weakness , lack of control and poor decision making ect.

I think people underestimate the power and damage alcohol can do. It can completly destroy you your family lose you your wife house money Job happiness I've seen all of this happen to someone before. (they died of alcohol posoning a year after all that)

Not to mention it can be a huge problem in the disruption and breakup of families. Drunk dads often gets you abusive dads, which often leads to the costly and mentally disrupting phenomenon of divorce.

Well, fun fact: you cannot get addicted to Cannabis without killing yourself. So it may indeed be a better drug for those likely to get addicted.

It's a major reason why marijuana is being legalized in different states:

the war on drugs is largely unwinnable, especially the way that America and it's politicians and lobbyists continue to insist on fighting it.

treatment for users, especially addicts, needs to come first.

using most drugs needs to be decriminalized
so that people won't be afraid to get help because of the laws.

No the ultimate question is whether the number of marijuana users would increase, decrease, or stay constant with decriminalization and eventual legalization. I am not sure anybody can make a good case for any possible outcome.
