Priority Question: 9/10/2013 08:58:42

A small question about priority cards in team games

I know that in FFA if 2 people play a priority card then they will be the first 2 people to play their turn and it randomises which goes first and which goes second however

In a team game how would the order go if 2 people on the same team play a priority card

The game in question is more than 2v2 but to keep it simple lets just say its a 2v2 game and its A1&A2 vs B1&B2 and both As play the priority card

Would the order go something like

A1,A2,B1,B2,B2,B1,A2,A1 (which I think is doubtful)

or would it still go

A1,B1,A2,B2,B2,A2,B1,A1 But just making sure one of your team go first so playing the second card is pointless

Basically im trying to work out if its a waste of time playing 2x priority cards

If multiple players play an Order Priority Card in the same turn, the move order will be determined normally (i.e. random) between those players. The players that didn't play an Order Priority Card will also be determined normally between each other, but their first order will not go before someone who played the card.

according to this it should be A1-A2-B1-B2.

I have't tried it though, would be interesting to see in-game example

I have always thought of OP/OD as containers. You have a container for all your orders.

Priority Container:
First order when using OP

Main Container:
All orders

Delay Container:
All orders after delay card played

The order for the turn is random (unless cyclical) and applies to all containers. If both player do OP, then the order within that container is based on who got priority (randomly) that turn. If two OP cards are played by the same player, a new Priority Container is created above the first one, and their first order goes into there rather than the normal priority container. If two delay cards are used, all orders after that go into a 2nd delay container after the first one.

So if we have Player A and their orders are:

OP card, 1, 2, 3, OD card, OD card 4, 5, 6

And we have Player B and their orders are:

OP, OP, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, OD, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

The moves would be sorted into these containers in order (assuming A gets first move randomly for turn):

Priority Priority Container:
B1

Priority Container:
A1

Main Container:
A2
B2
B3
A3
B4
B5
B6

Delay Container:
B7
B8
B9
B10
B11

Delay Delay Container:
A4
A5
A6

yes Chris that's perfectly right for single player games (1v1)

my questions was specific to team games and specifically whether players on the same team can take the 1st and 2nd moves ahead of the opposing team by each player playing a priority card
