I think re-naming abbandon to blockade is nice, I tend to call the abbandon "blockade" in natural situations anyway, like "blockade Hawii" when actually I mean abbandon but it feels right to say blockade (that's the correct semantic imo).

(irl blockades involed placing large forces in a stationary manner/local patrols/minefields so it makes more sense)

I like the idea of fortify for blockade, the point being you're using your men there to build fortifications, and then set them as a stationary garrison. Also the extra turn makes sense too, and attacking a fortification makes sense that it would cause serious damage before the fortification was up.

If you feel like you should be able to therefore reclaim those men, how about a new card for "reclaim troops" or something, that lets you undo the blockade/fortify? For that the game would need a way to show you still "own" that territory though.

First you should consider the Theme of game. "Land Mine" = blockage.v.abandon, Bomb card, Airlift, Spy, Diplomacy, sanction.

Land Mine could fit into category as general theme sounds like modern-warfare, but it implies it is hidden-unknown and may confuse new player who do not read Wiki. Land mine is too clear in that Trap part.

I would prefer Chris suggestion:
"Priority Blockade
Delayed Blockade"

or Sephiroth´s
Scorched-Earth Card

I remember I always had problems recalling or taking for granted that Blockage also abandons the territory. I thought it keeps the territory - just makes armies immobile/stand still. Abandon seemed clear on that part, but the factor of army-multiplication did not derive from the name.

Scorched-Earth would be a good name and would fit the description as it happens only if enemy troops do not reach or intervene. Fortification as mentioned above implies you still own it.

Bottom-Line Conclusion
In military terms I have always drawn connection between Blockage-Ambush, Abandon-Burning Bridges/Scorched-Earth. As both are clear on the part before attack/after attack and never expect one to own the territory or to keep it!

There's a tiny difference between changing 1 name in a piece of code, to changing a template.

Militia - you're giving the territory to a neutral militia that may reïnforce it(depending on settings)

You could name it the Desertion card. Your troops desert you and form a resistance with the locals.
