Description

After climate change rendered the majority of Earth's surface uninhabitable, cities were forced to take to the skies using whatever technology was available to them. This map centers around the Steampunk Islands, the largest of such cities. The Steampunk Islands are known for their heavy usage of steam and wind-powered machinery, and mid 19th century fashion style. Their innovations in the field of aviation is what gave them the edge over competing city states on post climate change Earth. Now it is up to you to defend the Steampunk Islands from invading cities, or to lead the conquest and fight for glory.

Thank you to Garlicito, Ares and Legolas!

Bizarre yet lovely. I totally missed the fine print in the bottom left and got wrecked, but then realized my mistake and decided I loved the concept. LOL

You know better than to play on one of my maps without reading the fine print!

"And I Melted into a Fluid Named Extinction". Definitely needs some work. Excellent map, but the bonus system is messed up. I took Kennuckglen and dropped from 5 to 4 units per turn and it happened with two others. Also, I won when only taking 1/3 of the map. AI's didn't spread much, rarely attacked me, but attacked each other non stop.

The bonus system isn't messed up, it just takes some getting used to :)

Due to the bonus system, taking some bonuses will result in negative income unless you take another bonus in that superbonus at the same time. For example, Kennuckglen is worth 2 income, but due to it being light blue then unless you own another light blue bonus, you will get the light blue -3 penalty (resulting in -1 income).

Also, AI's don't tend to handle bonus systems like this very well, for some reason it seems to break them. This map is mainly designed for multiplayer games.

Ran well with 6 players; very spaced out. May be better for more players.
Some of the ridges are a bit difficult to spot how to get up/down, but overall a good map.
Enjoyed it. A+++++

confusing

I've made the bonus system bigger so you really can't miss it now. If you spend a little bit of time reading it before you play on the map, it isn't that confusing

Bonuses are broken. I take a bonus and get negative income. Airlifts also don't help.
1/5 never again.

Read the chart, this map is designed so you can't just expand however you want and get lots of income.
