Description
The Waterman Butterfly Projection was originally designed by Steve Waterman and is created with the unfloding of a globe shaped as a truncated octahedron. Acording to Waterman's website,

"The Waterman projection show the equator clearly, as well as continental shapes, distances ( within 10 % ), areas ( within 10 % ) angular distortions ( within 20 degrees ), and relative postions, as a compromise: statistically better than all other World maps."
The main rival to the Waterman Projection is the Dymaxion ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymaxion_map ) but the Dymaxion has several issues includiong a chaotic layout and being more spread out & therefore harder to identify proximity of places across cuts.
Each territory has ~ a 2 Trillion USD GDP. As a result, the US and China get far more than anyone else, being the top 2 countries as far as GDP, at ~19T & ~12T and 3rd place, Japan, at only ~5T.
