Massive and beautiful. There are many checkpoints, but not so many that you can't outflank opponents. While it can be hard to keep track of everything visually, that is a necessary consequence of such a large and detailed map.
Apropos of nothing - I love the Stormlight Archive names in the Vega system.
Finally, a point to consider, given the map's size, you might consider just a few warp points to enable rapid long-distance movement.

Interesting map but it's impossible to play well. You have to hunt for the territories and your positions, and when you zoom in you have to scroll all over and you don't know what you're looking at. It makes for very frustrating play.
