the letters in the squares are not clickable. that's disturbing, 'cause you keep clicking at nothing.
and the army-points are all in the left-lower corner of the squares, so (depending on your colour) often you cannot see the arrow very good.
so the map is a funny idea, but I find it disturbing to play here.

The map is very poorly balanced in the sense that *huge* bonuses can be held by a singly territory. Linking the corners of the map, or potentially the diagonal tiles could make the map a lot more challenging and fun to play.

Doesn't actually need to have letters on it b/c it's not really a crossword, ie: replace the letters with numbers, pictures, leave them blank, and absolutely nothing changes, and the words don't really add anything to the game. Why choose 'gibe', anhow? lol. Really should have put more effort into choosing some better words, or just not use letters/words at all.
Labyrinth is a better map imho - more or less the same design and goals, but better implemented.

Interesting map design, but "card overload!" with cards that are useless; yet one of the really important cards, the DIPLOMACY card, does not work! I tried 5 times and it never worked. The algorithm seems fair (if the DIPLOMACY card worked), but I could not win it, even after 50 turns.

I'll give this map a 4 star rating. It's much better than the "Crossword Puzzle" map that was earlier in the chain because of all the different cards you can use in this one. The airlift cards make it so it doesn't take forever by having to move one space at a time and the spy, bomb, and surveillance cards help a lot too. It took me 65 turns on my first try, but I think I can figure out the strategy to do it in under 35 for the gold star now that I have seen how the cards can be used for this map.

Don't understand why I won. After many failed attempts at this map, I read that attacking in a particular direction was the best strategy. I tried that and all of the enemies "glitched" and didn't fight back. Very hollow feeling -- like there's a secret to this map and there was no easy way to figure it out on my own. (And I'm a big scrabble fan too.)

It seems to miscount the armies for allocation. If I look at what tiles I own, they would seem to add up to 10 (which includes the "star" single tile worth 3) but, only 5 are allocated.

OK, this idea about rating the map itself, not the game is kind of silly, people are going to rate the game, especially if its as frustrating as this one is. So, 4 stars for the map, sorry, but 1 star for the game. I don't know how to beat this, I am just not smart enough I guess. My stacks of 4 were met on all sides by stacks of 20+ and growing. The game ended with a 106 stack eating my last square. Bummer!
