The map is unbalanced. The left hand side of the map has a real advantage over the right hand side. If you can take the left hand outpost and the left hand Peninsula and you will win. The territories on the right hand side of the map are very hard to hold and it almost always ends up in a huge multi-AI battle (meat grinder) on that side.
