The Wizard of Earthsea book is very good. I'm glad someone made it into an awesome map.

A fun map with good flow and fairly solid chokepoints. Unfortunately, I found there to be some imbalance in favor of the north and against the east. The north has the fewest number of any territories of all the reaches. It can be defended by holding just three locations - none of which is a negative-bonus pirate bay. Finally, the north has two bonus castles to all other reaches' one castle.

The east, however, has 17 territories (compared to the North's 13 and 14 each for the south and west). One most hold four territories to defend it, including both of its pirate bays. This makes it by far the least attractive starting area.

Less marked but still relevant is the imbalance favoring the south over the west, with similar problems as the north-east relationship.

All that being said, I appreciate the multiple scenarios, which are practically indispensable on a map of this size. Clean up the balance issues and this is a 5-star map all the way.

The (negative) Pirate strongholds are an interesting twist. I was given one at the start of the game which I thought was cruel, but I overcame. Great map.

A novel concept with the both 1 and -1 ports connecting the islands. Makes for interesting strategies and counterplay.

Awesome map. An extraordinary masterpiece. Ursula K. Le Guin would've been proud of it.

Great map! Well balanced and fun to play on. Yes, you had to cut a lot of islands from the original LeGuin map, but you did it in a way that still captures the feel of Earthsea.
