Description

This map will offer the opportunity to create role playing games, FFAs and Diplo games in a medieval setting. It is based on nothing else, than my imagination. Some territory and bonus names may tell a little story, but don't hesitate to use this map as a pattern for your own fictive battle tales.

Wow. Just wow. I would give this map 10 stars if I could. It is gorgeous, challenging, well-balanced and, most importantly, super fun. The ports force you to guard your hinterlands and prevent you from simply rolling forward to victory. The castles and terrain features add to the strategy, as well.

For those who don't like high-value bonus ratios, you can simply lower them. This map is just every kind of awesome.

I've praised enough while testing but here's more: The artwork and aesthetics of this map are outstanding! All the way from the small farm houses, to the trees to the little harbours and docks. The individual cities are something special and unique. The rivers, mountains/hills and woods add greatly to the strategy.

I must point out that I'm not a fan of the large bonuses, however because of the maps aim its not too major. I would have like to see a story and some kingdom bonuses, as I said in the test. However I think its very open to everyone's own imagination, as you said. The gameplay from the test game is actually very enjoyable, I think it will work well for FFa's and team games. Very good work.

The castle starts are somewhat unbalanced, but that is to be expected in an asymetrical map such as this. Additionally, connections along the river can be missed at first glance, but they help create a more tactical game. Overall, a well made and beautiful map.

Really awsome map! Great job! I agree on the fact that waterways are a bit "hidden", but it's ok. I don't like large maps, but this is really nice to see and to play on.
Visually it's a pleasure, with maniac attention to details (i.e. waterways on rivers only downstream of rapids!). Congratulations!

PS: missing likn between "Anaxy" and "Loud Lupus"

thanks dan. I've fixed that.

This is a nice map to look at, and I really like the river connections. Be prepared for a loong game if you want to beat the AIs, e.g., 82 turns. Territory flipflops a lot more than I've seen in other games. If you like some craziness like that, you'll probably like this map. After several times I still find it hard to see what connects to what - it'd be nice if that were made clearer. I think this could be done with some more visual cues.

I will consider it.

Totally lame map where the last AI cannot be reached before 21 moves to win against the only AI that plays a diplomacy card to prevent a gold star. I rate all these maps a 1 where the coder must cheat a player to keep them from a star. Several of them so far. Every attempt lands at 21 just before killing last AI. These are the reasons I would never pay to play a game like this. I cannot stand maps that you have to have luck to win. That is not a challenge against the skill of a player, its an insult if anything. I starred in 20 moves and the AI did not play a diplomacy card so this is intentional to piss people off.

the map it way too big for the bonuses to be so large. late game army way 4K+ without farming and was a super tedious and inevitable grind. Also the enemy groupings are placed so there is no challenge for the player to grow to a snowball critical mass because only 1 ai is near play and the other three are grouped up together in the corner.

Somebody explain to me how you get a gold star without a ton of luck. On turn 21 I was within 2 spaces of every part of the map. Played a flawless game. Then on turn 22 get slapped with Diplomacy Card so do not get the star. 4 times in a row!!! Not wasting any more valuable time on this one.

BS!!

Very well designed map. No bad connections, keeping an eye on dock connections makes for tougher strategy. A nicely balanced and loaded map. Even the look is appealing with no poor visual distractions.

Forgetting a random port can be an instant loss on a giant map. Why are there so many of them?

Very charming design, great balance between restrictions/obstacles and freedom of movement. Seems like a great fit for all sorts of game modes and different numbers of players.

Great map. The river ports allow for cool tactics. But I really wish the river ports themselves were way more visually distinct. Way too often I would go "oh crud, that was a port" and then the enemy attacks my backline and spreads like wildfire going from port to port and spreading out from the port.

Like the map. The only downside is the last AI deploys a diplomacy card no matter what you do so you’ll never be able to get a gold star

Beautiful map, but for me personally, (tele)ports added to game nothing but chaos. I discovered that there are connection lines between them 3 turns after somebody mysteriously jumped right into my area.
Response by map creator Ranek on 7/6/2016
so you dislike the map, because you've been inattentive and probably lost your first game on it? I suggest to give it a second try, in which you will be aware of the river connections (teleport^^).
