Description

This map reflects the geo-political situation in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East in the late 12th Century. With a large amount of territories but small bonuses, it works for diplomacy, FFA and team games.

Class, very good map. From what I see this has good accuracy but its hard to check when there is so many bonuses and territories. You've finally done clean borders and changed the colours for bonuses. The design is good, obviously a big map limits artwork. Perhaps you should add boats though?

I'm not a fan of the isolated Kingdoms like Ethiopia and those in South middle-East. The blank grey spaces in the east just look a bit weird. The cities are a nice addition, maybe a bit crammed in the north though.

I've given it 4 stars, because it looks very nice. However solely for diplo and role-play.

Excellent strategic fun with a lot of useful choke points. You have to learn that big bonuses aren't everything, and teamwork is highly necessary in multiplayer games when trying to take down powerful players.

I found through playing this map and testing that the East is very beneficial for bonuses, but is spread very thin and can be easily overtaken by players coming in from the North (Russia), Middle (Sicily) and the South (Africa. The West meanwhile boasted some good chokepoints and defensive positions.

Overall, great map and a congratulate you and thank the creator for putting time into making this such a blast for me and other players.

Very nice, very long
Some bugs though:
Bug: Southern Ardeche doesn't connect to Avignon
Bug: Coastal Logudoro connected (albeit not touching) with Central Sardinia

I still think that the Caucaus should be filled with the Cumans and Kypchaks that were there. Also, I think you should fill the African and Arabian coasts with the tribes that lived there. Principality of Galicia and Halych? They weren't close at all; the reason they unified in 1200 was because Halych annexed Galicia. You should make seperate boni. Also, more minor details: Instead of the Moonsund archipelago being named Dagö and Ösel, you should rename it to the Estonian names, Hiiumea and Saaremea, since there wasn't really a Swedish/Danish presence on the island. Also, perhaps Indian coast? (Though you might offend someone by saying Hinduism is paganism, though I think it fits the definition). Also, check where you're placing your territories, it feels as though the Belarus-Western Ukraine area is a bit off.

Eastern Crete - Chandax
Western Cyprus - Limisol
Eastern Cyprus - Famagusta
Principality of Polozk - Principality of Polotsk or Polock

Otherwise, well done. 3/5

A well put together map, if only held back by being so damn large. Recommended for 16 players

Incredible map. I love the four cities being set off in individual areas, and especially the use of outskirts to provide more than one entrance to each city. There are obviously a ton of possibilities here. Great work.

There are, unfortunately, a few broken/unintended connections. I did not keep track of them, but I remember a few. Check Pantheon N in Rome. Also Split-Vodice is broken. Zhukopa-Solnechny, also. Not sure if Mullsjo should connect to Anneby. Northern Soria should not connect to Northern Zaragoza. Also, Northern is misspelled in Northern Soria.

I can't recall any others, but there were maybe 1-2 more I noticed.

Northern Teruel and Northern Guadalajara are not connected like they appear to be. This should be fixed.

One of the greatest maps, and one of the first, that I have ever played. It is certainly timeless, and it seems that you can hardly go a week without finding it in the "Open Games".

5/5 bretty good. A very big map, which can mean games take ages, and with the massive land mass they can also get a bit boring, brilliant diplo setting though which makes up for the landmassness. I must note that the level of accuracy in design and borders is of high standard.

I really like the idea of a mini map of cities which take place in otherwise small sections of the map. I can't really speak to the intricacies of gameplay, but I really wish I could create this game at a lower level so I didn't have to find someone else setting it up.

I love the design, and the thought put into it, but there where many missed connection, all over, if one stuck out I would name it, neat map though.

Outstanding, incredibly detailed, nice setup, franks could have had a tiny bit more options of expansion/armies per turn, as H.R.E. is a bit OP and needs a bit nerfing, but that's just my preference.

When you end the game with 1800 troops to place and 23800 total troops, it becomes tedious. For the massive amount of work that goes into creating these huge maps, I don’t think the result is justified.
