The starting position top right is not as symmetric as the others.... He's one step closer to attacking the "close" neighbour (top left). Everyone needs three steps to border the "close" neighbour, but top right only two steps....

A nice stack them up and roll across the board game. The biggest key is take control of the central area first as it is only 4 territories and gives a decent payout right off the bat.
