Warlight Chess Tournament: 5/12/2013 14:02:07

Well, I am happy to make it. I think it should be as follows:

• Double RR.
• Everyone plays everyone as black and white.
• A win is worth 1 point.
• A draw is worth 0.5 points.
• A loss is worth 0 (This point system is what Chess.com uses).

If people are happy with this, then I'll start to organise it. By all means set up a game with me if you have any ideas.

OK, I've tried to find as many WarLight players as possible. See my profile ( http://www.chess.com/members/view/The_Impaller ) for all the players I've found (there are just a couple of players there who aren't on WarLight). If you aren't a friend of mine yet on Chess.com, but want to take part in this tournament then add me now!

Sorry for the double post (not triple because it's been a while :) )

In a couple of days, I'll make a tournament here on WarLight as a chat for the people who will play.

Latnox is getting the free premium trial thingy so we should be able to have a tournament on Chess.com itself (so I won't make the chat tournament here on WarLight). I'm not sure if you can invite players to tournaments on Chess.com, so if you can't, hopefully Latnox can make it private (by removing players if necessary) and we can join when given the link.

you can make Invite-only torneys. There`s a quick guide on how to Invite here: http://support.chess.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/115/12/how-do-i-invite-players-to-my-tournament

There`s a complete guide for how to make a tournament, idk exactly where it`s but can probably find it if it is neccesary

yeah, but there isnt a premium member here on chess.com, if there was they could create a warlight group as well

Ithought this was a pretty nice game of me. Especially the mate in 6 wasn't too shabby

Well, i must have deleted this message about free premium trial. Now when I'm trying to activate it, i can't find nothing like this :/ Either i misunderstood the message, or i don't know where to look. Anyway at the moment i don't have premium account. Sorry for the confusion.

Fun to watch, Aranka. I'd like to see others posting their games too, I could really use something to get inspiration from :)

Well played Aranka, although I can't say the same about you opponent :p Also I don`t see the mate in 6.. if white plays smt else than f3 it takes more time.. Anyway that\s being picky..

You can see games from me here: http://www.chess.com/members/view/Henns#games
and from other players too, just swap out "Henns" with their username.

I think what Luxis meant is that he didn't want to look at all the games but specifically wanted certain games which people liked for a certain reason (Like mine with my attack).

If you're playing a clearly inferior opponent there's not a lot which could be learned from such a game and such

Btw fellow warlighters/chess players, please don't act like my opponent in the following game:
http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=517279704

He literally waited 16 minutes to then just make 1 move just before his timer was gone in an attempt to fool me by winning on time.
II expect more sportmanship from the likes of you :P

A couple of my recent 3|0 games:

http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=507239081
http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=513362683

The only real time I play is 3|0. Some moves may be bad as time pressure is a real factor in these games.

First game; you played well, although with played really bad..
Second game; tougher opponent, and not as well played by you.. but you won it-and deserved the win :)

@Aranka, I believe there`s a report function?

game with arun, http://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=69773916, shows good examples of forks and discovery checks for anyone who cares to see how they work

it shows pins too ;) also arun could have saved his bishop with bxe2 instead of Qh5. Taking the d4 pawn is the losing move. although I think Ba5! is better than Nxa8- the game is practically over either way at that point.

So...about that chess tournament...guess everyone forgot about it and decided to show off all their wins instead?
