I guess the colour of the 1s has to do with which bonus you created last: the 1 or the superbonus. (Just a guess, i'm not a mapmaker :( )

it's based on the last bonus value you changed. click on lisbon. take it out of the superbonus. then make it part of portugal again. now the primary bonus will be lisbon and the secondary bonus will be portugal.

each time you change bonus values it will change the cities' colors too. it's an annoying part of the program.

Looks really nice!

some border over-lapping around Venice that could be fixed.

Maybe give a different colour to the smaller bonuses within a country, such as in France. As it is now, it's hard to see which territories are part of a bonus.

Gui - thx. It helped.

Chaos - I will be addressing those issues later today (venice is definitely not the only one but thanks for the tip). As for smaller boni within countries - i will make them perfectly readable, and i have an idea how to do that, but i want to do it after testing, because since it's probably not the final shape of the boni, otherwise i would make the same corrections and revert from them a thousand times before the public version is made..

Ironheart - 1) As for now, the change of color seems pretty permanent, and works on different computers i checked, so gui's advice seems legit to me. Can you describe better when does the color randomly change? maybe you forgot to click "save"? 2) If by text you meant test then sure, i can invite you, but i think it'll be in about a week..

Any progress with the map?

Bonus values I'll probably use for games I make on the map:
- Benelux 2
- Northern Ireland 0
- Norway (it's spelled Norwey on the map) 3 or 4
- Sweden 4 or 5
- Finland 3 or 4
- Austria 3
- Italy 3
- Eastern Yugoslavia 3
- Turkey 2 or 3 (it's touching 3 1 bonuses)
- Ukraine 4 (it's touching 4 1 bonuses)
- Poland 3 (touching 2 1 bonuses)
- Germany 3 or 4 (it has 2 1 bonuses)

You called a zone Denmark inside the bonus Denmark. I suggest calling it Funen instead. Or South Jutland.

The map looks very good graphically.

This is one of the prettiest maps I've ever seen.
Here are a few name corrections though:

  • The territory of Denmark within Denmark should be cald Syddanmark, as that is the name of the actual region of Denmark that exactly covers that area.
  • Zeeland in Denmark should be called Sjælland for the same reason. (You make an æ by pressing ALT+Z)
  • Baden-Wuettemberg in Germany should be called Baden-Württemberg.
  • Istambul is Istanbul, with an N.
  • Epire in Greece should be called Epirus.
  • Peloponez in Greece should be called Peloponnese.
  • Eire should probably be called Republic of Ireland, unless you want every region in the map be called in the native tongue, which would require lots and lots of name changes.
  • The Papal States also covered Rome.
  • Walachia in Romania should be called Wallachia.
  • Rhone Alps in France should be called Rhône-Alps.

That were all the incorrect names I could find so far. I must say this is very good for a first map, and I'm looking forward to what you'll make next.

Will test this if you want.

This map is very good aesthetically speaking (haven't looked at bonuses and so on) - I would never have guess it was a first attempt at a map.

I was working on bonus values and shapes for a day or two, and they have changed significantly from what is presented in the above link, but then i had some important things outside of WL to do, so sorry for the delay and thanks for feedback - i will get back to making the map in a couple of days and include some of your suggestions.

I don't really think that you are looking for geographical correctors, but I am going to correct you anyway because I have no other way of occupying my day.

First off, "Czech" is a grammatically wrong name of the Czech Republic, if you are looking for a shortened name for the Czech Republic, then that is Czechia. Quite a common misconception there.

Second off, "Nitra" is a town located in central Slovakia, not western Slovakia, where the biggest city is Bratislava.

Third off, why is central Slovakia called "Bohemia"? Is that a mistake or something? Because I highly doubt that would be on purpose, anyway, call that region "Nitra" or central Slovakia.

Fourth off, I have no idea why did you call eastern Slovakia "Saris", is that another mistake? I don't know of a town called "Saris" in eastern Slovakia, anf if that isn't on purpose, then rename the town to "Košice" or "eastern Slovakia".

And fifth off, why is Sjaeland (The island next to Denmark) called Zealand? Zealand is a region in the Netherlands, not in Denmark. Call the island "Sjaeland" or "Copenhagen".

Sorry for the random outburst by the way. That's just me.

Czechia - thank you very much for feedback. It's not an outburst - those things you pointed out - especially in slovakia were my mistakes. I have no idea how did it happen, but it's fixed now.

Today, I have sketched Russia, but i do need somebody from Russia to help me name all the teritorries and bonusses (as for now, obviously not all the bonusses in russia are visible and i neither have I decided on final bonus shapes on the rest of the map yet)

If you are from russia, and are willing to help me with the names, please make a chat game and invite me to it.

hey looks awesome love to help test and not criticizing but it really does not make sense to me to give Ireland a 1+ especially if yu don't give it a city name

I found a proper map of Russia and have named all the teritorries. I could still use some help with naming the bonusses there, and checking if all the names are correct.

{wwd}gg - if you mean northern Ireland - it's just a question of name - I can rename the bonus to Belfast, but the territory for obvious reasons will remain Northern Ireland. There is similar situation in StPetersburg (different bonus and teritorry name) If you mean the bonus for Republic for Ireland, i can't imagine it without a bonus, and adding more bonus would overpower it to much. the combination of three comboing bonusses - Northern Ire +1, Rep. of Ire +1 and unification of the whole island +1 makes historical and strategic sense to me.

Why is north-eastern Poland named "Kujawy and Mazury"? Didn't you mean "Podlasie and Mazury"? :)

Sorry moros. I did not "ignore" you. I left this map undone for a few months and simply forgot to check the previous posts. I corrected everything according to your guidelines, and i will take a look at all the previous forum posts later on, but today ;) thanks for feedback!
