Rationalists who rely on evidence do not a priori believe that theism is likely to be correct or not. However we have to be against faith as a means to understand reality.

Faith is unreason, declaring factual statements to be factually correct without backing them up with evidence. Faith is a useless method to obtain knowledge because you can believe in anything and everything by faith which is independent of whether what you believe in is factually correct.

Hence a rational person has to oppose any form of faith regardless of whether fundamentalists or leftists has it.

FAITH IS BACKING UP STUPID SHIET WITHOUT PROOF. JUST SINCE I BELIEVE THAT HUMANS EVOLVED FROM UNICORNS DOESN'T MEAN IT MEANS SHIET!

ALL THE GUYS UP IN MY JOINT KNOW THIS IS AS STUPID AS IT LOOKS.

There's not any proof to say that the concepts that religions believe in are false.

We would accept a young earth if it were backed up by evidence.
Young Earth was a concept invented by a Irish Bishop who took too many assumptions with the written language of the Bible and what was in it or was left out. Not only is there no scientific evidence to back up Young Earth, but the Bible does not say how old the Earth is.
