What we need is not the ability to add players to a Mail, the Mails are supposed to be like a PM- private. Imagine I say to Chris that JSA is *insert something mean here*, and then Chris add JSA to that thread.. ofc that's a silly example, but you get the point.


Instead I think we should get another additional mail system, that can include multiple ppl, and allow to add players to the discussion. (as well as removing yourself), you can do this with chat games, but its certainly not ideal. we need a group mail.

How about making the person who created the mail the only one capable of adding players? This would solve what Hennns just said.

no there is a proper uservoice for this unless it got deleted. Someone posted a thread about 2 weeks back talking about improvements to warlight and I suggest a bunch of points to do with mail and he included everything in a uservoice. I remember using 3 votes to upvote it

Well, really the current system should not be called "mail" at all. It is really more of a PM system like you say.

It should be renamed "Messaging" rather than mail, and a new mail system should be added with these functions:

Renaming mail
Adding/removing users from a mail chain
Deleting mail from your inbox
Searching mail
Sorting mail (promoting/starring/etc)

While both have important features to be added ChristCMU's uservoice is much better and more whole for mail reforms

And yeah, that one linked by Nogals is not focused enough. It is regarding forums, mail system, etc. Those are separate systems. I HIGHLY doubt Fizzer would do anything on an idea with too big of a scope on it.

fair enough, some of those Ideas aren't mine, like I said it was a thread asking for ideas and I just contributed a few points and the creator clustered everything together.

You're right in that Frizzer will most likely not accept an idea that is so broad

Problem is in Chat system, there is no normal chat in Warlight. You should start game, but its not chat, its trick

I have spoken to Frizzer several times about this, he would probably ban me if I ask him again. He said its not something he wants to implement at the moment but the chat game is what he suggests. Technically its not a trick, its the official way of communicating.

personally I don't care about a chat system. most people I would chat with real time, I am on skype with anyway.

I am more interested in improving non-real time communications. The forums suck (no way to subscribe to threads or forums and ignore others without add on tools posted by other players), the clan forums suck even worse (no admin tools at all, even on a private board), the mail system is OK (but again, no ability to add a person to a thread, delete threads, rename threads, etc). Sometimes we use tournaments to chat in as a clan, because we can add people (if you got a new clan mate) unlike mail. The problem is that in tournament chats and game chats...it takes up extra room on those pages, but the biggest issue IMO is that you cannot copy the chat out (only a single line at a time). So that is where mail has an advantage despite the limitations it has.

^You overestimate my influence for sure. I don't think he even knows what the clan league is actually, just as a frame of reference of how well he knows me.

And my 'mod' powers are moving threads to another forum, that is it. I know there are are at least a few other mod powers that exist...and I don't have them. So clearly he trusts other people more than me :)

Mail threads need a huge update. Completely inefficient.

I suggest moving towards a IM system (like facebook's or steam's), so that you can have a widget that shows you who's online and allows you to easily chat with people and do basic actions like inviting players to a game.

There's plenty of open source IM frameworks (http://ajaxim.com/ just to name one), so the coding work to implement one would be really minimal.
