Japan, I actually (at the top) made a part that said specific rules for this game in ¨()¨. Essentially, you only have to state what the changes to the standard rules are. Can you think of anything I´m missing? And yes, serious RP diplos are hillarious. I´m in one where you use google translate to switch your chat to another language.

Another big thing I was noticing by reading other players diplo rules is that I need rules about declaring war separate from your alliance, and that an alliance needs a majority vote to declare war on a player.

EDIT: Also, it needs something about Spamming in chat, not having to honor things made in private chat, something about being excessively rude in chat, (probably just a chat etiquette section) and purposefully slow play to drag the game out.

Out of pure curiousity, has anyone actually read the whole thing?

No, I read the Summarized section, and as such missed that point that you pointed out to me.

For those of you who like diplos in Warlight, you should try Supremacy 1914. It's very similar to WL diplos.

I occasionally play diplos, but both your lists seemed okay.

And yes, I read the whole thing for both posts.

(Under Declaring Full War) Personal War
You can declare war separately from your Alliance. Members of your alliance cannot be involved in this war without Declaring Full War as well.

(New Division) Chat Etiquette
Being excessively rude will name you PE.

(change in Alliance)
Alliances need majority votes to Declare War.

(New Topic) Slow Play
Consistent slow play will get you named PE after being given a warning.

I like this rule set. I may consider using this in the future as it clears up any grey areas in normal diplo rules.

I generally in find I have my own ruleset that I employ in all games, but this is an excellent concept. Mine is as follows:
1. You must declare war to attack, do so a turn in advance (declare turn X, send orders turn Y)
2. Alliances are allowed and unlimited, but must be declared in public chat
3. Don't troll, spam, or be annoying or obnoxious in general
4. Please Roleplay (Optional but strongly advised)
5. Failure to follow the rules will make you PE, PE's can be attacked by any and all players without declaration, and non-PE players should do so, though they are not required to.

OnlythePie, the purpose was more or less what LoaTBaC said. I wanted something to clear up a lot of grey areas. People always talk about the ¨General Rules¨, but they don´t actually exist. I´m thinking about a final change or two to the list. Should I keep the PE section where it is, allow a vote to make someone not PE anymore, and/or make it so PEs are declared by a majority vote?

I also saw one with a rule that said although the declarer of war had to wait, the defender didn´t.

My big thing to do with this is to try and make it onto the Warlight wiki so there is an actually official rule set. However, I need general public agreement before hand. This will help prevent grey areas, grumpy people, and still leaves room for personal game changes (at the very top in ¨()¨). People could just set up a link to the rules.

I disagree with some of these rules, so they do not receive my approval, plus it seems rather bad to have a single set of rules.

Which ones do you think are wrong,

do you think most of them are agreeable,

and did you notice the part where it is so you only put adjustments to standard set of rules? That allows you to do your stuff with ASOIAF maps, and other personal preferences.

This is partly to recognize the fact that a lot of games just say ¨Normal Diplo Rules¨ the end. Confusing to new players, and some people do have different ideas to what the standard set is. This is what people seem to use the most. The most changed one is the waiting for War to start one. That could be personalized.

Thank you for clarification. The stuff I dislike is the turn protocol on wars. Aso, I'm sorry about the Normal Diplo rules thing, I feel I started it, with a diplo I made on summer in the northern hemisphere.

I think I will make a notice by the Declaring War part that this is easily adjustable from game to game.
