@Lawlz I think those companies, whether they try or not, kind of work like the product placement principle. They don't necessarily do anything active.

Also my point is that you and all your friends DO speak english. Many peopel don't (not native; in this context), but in order to be a part of , say the WL community, you need to speak English. This is why i mentioned British as a possible replacement, that I don't wont to see. (They are just as hopeless in many ways, + annoying grammar.)

@Жұқтыру True, still don't think this is a good point if you support democracy.

I agree with the metric crowd. Yeah, the imperial system has a lot of real world context, but you can find the same in the metric system (my finger looks about a centimeter wide). Whenever I estimate temperature in fahrenheit, I usually round to the nearest 5 degrees anyway, so I'd have no problem using bigger degrees.

Talking about America's cultural spread around the world, it reminds me of a world history class I took in high school. The instructor would talk about each civilization, then end with "And then they got fat, dumb and happy." I see that same corruption in America today "The 1%" "rich get richer" etc. Then we got to the Ancient Greeks. They spread their language and culture all over the known world at the time. They were powerful, too, but then they got fat, dumb and happy and the Romans took over. They conquered the known world, and just let everyone continue speaking Greek. I'm wondering if a similar thing will happen to our world...

Who said I support democracy?

Also, Liberia is one of the most democratic countries in the world, but instead of voting for who you want, you vote who you don't want with bullets.

Thanks for getting me straight on those, xy.

But, I'm very sure about replaceable parts. Until the need for mass production, it was all custom made things. Your blacksmiths became workers in a process.

As far as richest man, manda has unquantifiable wealth. Meanwhile, we have solid information on Rockefeller's wealth. Plus, he owned the fuel (literally)of the 20th century : oil.

Patton led the fastest, deepest cutting blitz in France during ww2. Not that I'm saying it's something special. Germany didn't have the manpower to keep up.

Still don't get you on the replacable bit. Also, it's sure that Mana Munsa was richer than anybody today - when he went to Mecca, he severely altered the economy with his spending. He had literally camel lines of what could be a mile going with him. And that wasn't even what he was carrying with him.

Give me a link with Patton.

Where's your links for French aeroplane. I'm sure the benelux or Germans had a contestant or 2.

You're thinking rommel led the fastest blitz, but he was outdone because Patton did the same thing, just he had more freedom of will.

The difference between Rommel and Patton, is that Rommel was a real strategist, winning most of the battles even those who were hopeless (see Afrikacorps), whereas Patton was clearly more advantaged: the German army was clearly weakened (since the Russian campaign), the number was clearly in favor of the allies, and also you had the support of the local population.

Жұқтыру in fact american money is not useless, it was recently announced by the UN(a global network in which America spearheaded the creation of) that the American dollar is the best to invest in, On top of that the British government is technically one of the poorest as it does not own any gold. American achievements also include but are not limited to...

Most Men on the moon
Reviving both Russian and British industry after the start of WW2
Kicking the British's ass in the revolution(sorry had to say it)
First man in flight

The Most Valued Economic Center
First Successful Nuclear Reactor
First Nuclear warship
Is credited with dismantling the british empire after WW2
Fastest Economic Revitalization Rate

The Machine Gun
The Panama Canal(largest ever constructed canal and trade center)
First Modern Submarine
Trans Atlantic Cable communication
Steamship travel
Transcontinental railroad
Worlds first skyscraper
The first successful light bulb
First mass production
hardly no achievements, and in fact this system is used in Thailand and Liberia as well, and england didn't even adopt the system until after 1950

The UN did they? The British government isn't rich, neither is the American, it's not one of the poorest though.
Kicking the British's ass in the revolution(sorry had to say it)
That is exaggerated. You won...
Is credited with dismantling the british empire after WW2
It was inevitable
The Machine Gun
Helge Palmcrantz, Swedish. First 'Modern' Submarine. These achievements you've listed are significant, yes. But the most significant, not.

How about British and rest of the world inventions, if you are braging about this....

Genghis: when we are talking of scales of bits we type kbits not kb. kb is for kilobytes. a bit is a state of 0's and 1's, a byte is a pack of 8 of those bit states.
1 byte is 8 bits.
1 kbit is 1000 bits.
1 kb is 1024 bytes.

Now i knew that, but abbreviations are similar, and when looking over statistics and the like, it really melds in my eyes ( i have a minor dyslexia that's hardly noticeable in normal circumstances).
