Yeah, David, I just wrote your level because you have quite a generic name, and when I go to look for you, about 20 David's would come up. But you're probably the only one on your level, so I wrote it as an indicator.

Rename the 'Republic of Ireland' the 'Irish Free State'. Although Ireland became independent in 1922, it didn't become a republic until 1949.

Clement Atlee - that wouldn't quite be correct. There are three dates regarding the devolution of power to Ireland, not just two.
1922 - Irish Free State created, it becomes a dominion within the Commonwealth
1937 - Ireland is no longer a Commonwealth Realm and becomes a Republic - the Republic of Ireland
1949 - Ireland leaves the British Commonwealth all together

Commonwelath Realms are nations that continue to have the British Monarch as their monarch, despite being independent. Being a member of the British Commonwelath, now known as the Commonwealth of Nations, is just when you are in the organisation called the Commonwealth, but British customs aren't integrated into the nation's own constitution(s).

1949 was just when Ireland left the organisation, but it lost the monarchy back in 1937.

Does anyone know what the official name of Iran should be at this point? It was the Sublime state of Persia during the Qajar era, but other than the fact that the Pahlavis preferred the term "Iran," I can't really work out how it changed, if it did at all. If anyone knows, I'd be most grateful.

In 1935, the Iranian government requested those countries which it had diplomatic relations with, to call Persia "Iran," which is the name of the country in Persian

The Anglo-Soviet Invasion of Iran was the British and Russian invasion of the Empire of Iran during World War II, by Soviet, British and other Commonwealth armed forces. The invasion lasted from 25 August to 17 September 1941, and was codenamed Operation Countenance. The purpose was to secure Iranian oil fields and ensure Allied supply lines (see Persian Corridor) for the Soviets fighting against Axis forces on the Eastern Front.
