I can't believe that someone who made a Solar System map without Pluto got nominated here.

Well, they didn't include any of the other large non-planets in the Kuiper Belt either.

Luckily, because that would have been a massive number of territories not in any way significant to the solar system!

Murk works for NASA so I trust their judgment.

hey now. pluto Is more of a planet than jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune. they say nothing about planet in their description they're just gas or ice giants. At least pluto still has planet in its description, "dwarf planet" along with eris, haumea, makemake, ceres, and 2015 RR245.... mercury, venus, earth and mars the four "rocky planets"
so we actually have 9 planets (4 rocky, 5 dwarf), 4 giants (2 gas, 2 ice) :p

apparently I can't count... :) that would be 10 planets (6 dwarf, 4 rocky)

This is a compromise I can get behind. From now on I will support the 10 planet + 4 giant system.

Through my very real and not-lied job at NASA I will make it so.

Did he get nominated? No. Not even on the list. Guess I'll throw together composite material consisting of newspaper paper strips bound with an adhesive and molded in the shape of a trophy and give it to him. Because he's the real winner and now have to make a 2nd place because of huge germany.

That must be the most complicated way of saying "Papier-mâché" I've ever read.

Nominations were based off of what the community submitted. Scrub away all of the nominations for maps that weren't from 2020, and the lists were made from the most popular, and/or most persuasive submissions.

People actually nominated pre-2020 maps? I would have thought that would be a low bar of voting competence to pass.

This year was the first year we didn’t have someone submit Rise of Rome.


There was quite a few Landrias though lol.
