i didnt count but 4 or more of my loses are because of boot. as i said this is just for starting. time by time we will add some fair rules. +1500 is not enough i know. later it will be 1600 or 1700.

It's easiest to be like 1600 rating and get players rated around 1500-1700 constantly. It's a lot easier to go 45-5 vs them than go 40-10 vs 1900+ rated players.

you cant. because when you win you will get better opponents. for keeping your rating around 1600 you have to lose.

Also, a good way to truly see a players skills is to check their record vs ladder #1's on the ladder. If they have 20+ games vs #1's on the ladder, it shows their skill a lot in comparison to other #1's.

Hmm, on that meter I've went 5-5 vs. rank 1's in the past 3 months (in ladder games). That seems an odd way to measure too, since i'm certainly not as good as the average rank 1. I doubt I'd win 50% vs. them in a larger sample size either, but, I have thus far. I think even if I could though, part of the difference is that to be #1 (with many games at least) is you need to do very well vs. lower rated people too, not just be able to beat the top players with relative consistency.

A better challenge: get a 2200+ rating without stalling with 50+ unexpired games. I think it is possible but would be a tough challenge and require a lot of focus from a top strategic 1v1 player to accomplish it.

I dont play games fast enough. I have 90 days to get 50 wins. Faster than a win every 2 days, with 5 games going at once = a whole fresh batch of games every nine days. I take about 2 days to pick and then can make a turn or 2 a day. RTs are rare because of my time zone. There is very little room for error and a lot of delayers on the ladder. Have many people reached 50 unexpired games?

The most unexpired I've had is 79 I think, MoD has almost double that. I think JSA mentioned in one of his threads that hhh had something like 102 unexpired games as #1 at one point.

I'd agree to this, but I've only got 47 games against people with current ratings over 1500+ (no idea what they were when I played the, I think the earliest two were down at 0 as new players to the ladder)

Disregarding that rule, I'm happy with my 30-20.

Looking at best rank above 1600 is probably better than current rank above 1500, since it will take into account people who may not have any unexpired games left.

This is not really a great ranking system but is a nice side challenge for those who just want to play a lot and are not particularly bothered about rank.

Are you counting rating at the time you beat them or now?

Because I beat Teddy when he was #2, but has a 0 rating now. Not that I'd be on your list, was just an example

IMO, it should be anyone that averages over 1500 rating, or has been over 1500 at one time.

it was a very busy day for me and i am back now.
new rules;

1- player should be active in 1v1 ladder and ranked between 1-100.

2- games older than 1 year wont be counted.

3- games against opponents whose rating are less than 1600 (this is current rating not rating when game was created) wont be counted.

4- player should have 50 games finished with these criterias.

5- list will have only 20 players (more than 20 is hard to update). first 20 players of first 100 players in ladder who meets with criterias will be in list.

6- if players have same amounts of wins, i will check their ladder ratings to rank them.

7- this list is not against current ladder system. this is for players who likes to play more games in ladder. it is very hard to be ranked between 1-5 if you have more than 50 games finished but you can be #1 at this list.

8- i want to create a board with minimum 7 members to bring new rules and to update list. members will be from;
*1 member from every clan chosen by clan leaders (if they want to be a member)
*some players (will be voted) who is not active in ladder and not a member of a clan.
after board is created i wont touch system.

i will update list and add these new rules in my first post now

I agree with what you've said.

Just to add to that, the current system encourages 'ladder runs.' This is very damaging to the ladder because it incentivises leaving the ladder for months at a time while you wait for some bad losses to expire. This is one reason the vast majority of top 1v1 players are not on the ladder at any one time. The ladder is supposed to be a continuous thing but really it is played in a stop start manner by many top players.
