I gather from "oh wise one" I may have offended you. If I have, I apologize. I know belief is a thorny issue and it was never my intent to cause offense. My objection was not that Polytheism is not a valid belief, it's just that, definition wise, I cannot be seen as a "religion" in of itself. There are many polytheistic religions, however, polytheism, by itself, is only the belief in multiple deities.

I follow the church of eternal flame. We burn our body parts to be closer to jesus christ and the burning represents the sins of hell he took upon him for us. It is the hellfire we want to avoid post mortem by already exposing us to that punishment in our lifetimes.

Novices of the church start with burning fingers or toes. Apprentices will lit hands or feet. True believers and true divine of our church, will walk around with their heads on fire.

myhand, sounds like that religion's really taken hold in Tibet, huh?

Don't forget about the Snakehandler's of Jesus Christ. If it weren't for the snake in the garden, there would be no reason for Jesus. Snakes delivered the savior.
