FBGs have some decent players. We're not really a clan though.

Everybody here is veery good to criticize, especially Ironhart.
Why don't you try to build up a clan and make it as the opposite of your funny list? We'll talk after 20 days when you will change your name back without the tag.

He's probably not the only one Arun. A lot of clans are worthy of hate or at the least ambivilence. It's the ones that ram them selves down peoples throats that get more of the former. The rest mostly get the latter.
I think the only clans that could give a run to the better players on warlight are apex, WM or Ahol.
Ineffable's post is misleading. Most of the players at the top of the 2v2 ladder are not in any clan at all. Of the 20 players in the top 10 teams 2 are in a clan that's 10% of the best 2v2 ladder players. If you extend that sample to include the seasonal and 1v1 you get 7 out of 32 players in clans, 21.875% of the top current ladder players (on all formats) are representing clans. It should be noted that the sample consists only of members.
Of those clans WM has 3 different players, Ahol 2, apex 2 and 中国阳朔 1.

Ska, 中国阳朔 isn't really a "clan" at all. Just a group of guys who all happen to live (or have lived, at one point) in Yangshuo, China. Although I think if we were to say "we are a clan", we would probably be in the upper half. Not that we are that good, but it seems most of the clans on Warlight are led by children who start clans for no reason.

So in response to my muse - is it a fair statement to say that mostly the non-affiliated players are better than the clan players? As far as something like that can be judged of course.

Maybe - but quite a few really great players spring to mind who I would call experts at team games - and most of them are not in a clan.
Do you think a best of the clans could beat a best of the rest? And if so on which map and settings?

Kusanagi of course they are and their some really good clan members anyway 90% of warlight is not in a clan so it will be impossible not to find a single good one out of them all.

You can't judge all from the ladders of course - but from samples we can extrapolate. Can you think of a different way to take a sample? The ladder drawback is the exclusion of non-members of course - it's advantage is it's comprehensive ranking system consisting of fair games between people of similar levels. More effective than comparing win percentages which can be manipulated much more easily in my opinion.
