Sloppy is a 10x better drunk player than you.

I see a lot of people with recency bias here (and "own clan bias"), if it's from the whole decade, longevity and actually looking at everyone and the whole period should count for something. This may be news to some of you, but the world and Warzone doesn't resolve around you and your clan.


Best Clan: I believe Masters has been among the best for the longest time, in the earlier years, before Clans were a thing, especially [WM] stood out. Lynx, Apex and 20 should all get a mention here as well for being consistently good for more than just one year I'd say.


Best Player: Combining longevity with skill: mod, Timi and HHH should be the top 3 I believe, not necessarily in that order.
In the early years, The Impaller was the absolute best, while dead piggy, Gui, szeweningen (whatever the spelling is), Latnox and MotD could arguably be considered on top of the game for a while as well. Often overlooked, but shout-out to my clanmates Yeon and Jackie Treehorn for both being very good for a very long time as well.


Best Diplomacy Player: I have no idea.


Best Mapmaker: Incaman and Ranek both made some very nice maps that have been used a lot. They were at or near the top of the map ranking for most of the decade. Lionheart belongs to this list if we take into account quantity as well.


Best Community Member: (1) Fizzer for creating Warlight (Warzone) and actually be accessible to players as well, regularly posting on the forums, hostings streams and playing his own game. (2) MotD for creating MDL, with a shoutout to others who created CLOTs and the like. (3) Muli and some other for the userscripts. (4) The moderators of the website for doing the thankless unpaid job of keeping us all safe from squiggles, bootmatt and other people trying to ruin the fun of others. (5) All the serious mapmakers, who spent countless hours making beautiful maps, there is no Warzone without maps.

Background: the ladder was basically a few weeks old and the topic immediately diverted to ... stalling. It's not entertaining per se, but very enlighting and interesting to read now, almost 9 years later. Nothing really changes in human behaviour, everything comes back.

Well... hard not to have recency bias compered to you MW :D After all you have been active in the community since before the ladder stalling started.

For real thru, a decade is a very long time so hard to find an 'objective' best.

Best Clan : IMH, have to give a shootout to the early clans here. With REGL being the first clan to properly organize as a unit. I would pick them, despite other clans having better players and being more active in recent years. (In my view a clan's primary goal is not have the best players, but create a good experience that is open to all players. Also obv bias here as former member)

Best player is hard, as there are lot of templates etc. that influences this. I think the level of play has improved a lot; (however, keep in mind that luck used to be a big part of strat templates and are now basically gone) therefore old players are a bit behind here. Yeon is the absolute best team-player (Sze got noting on him, from my limited experience as teammates of both). For 1v1 it is much harder and too many good players that have dominated at different times. Mod and Deadman has both slayed the seasonal ladder with multiple (3 each!) 1st places thru. So I will put them as best of the decade for that. [Timinator also has a very strong case.]

Best map maker : Everyone with the trophy.

I would put Math Wolf as biggest ego

Best Clan: This is a hard question because clans seem to be good and then decline. Apex is probably the best historically when they were at their peak. Masters is probably the best currently, although they are declining a bit now. Honorable mention goes to WM, WG, Outlaws, Lynx, GG, ONE, and of course SNinja.

Best Player: There have been a lot of really good players to come and go. For me, the ones that are still around that are the greatest. Here I would have to mention Deadman, Timinator(or Hexe?), Master of Desaster, Buns, Rufus, Krzysztof, Summer, and Rakleader. There are a bunch of other great players out there as well not included in my list.

Best Diplomacy Player: No idea

Best Mapmaker: My favorites are Chaos, Issander, NinjaNic, Ranek, Lionheart, sloppyfatginger, and Moros. My top 2 would have to be Issander and Lionheart.

Best Community Member: There are a lot of players that have put in a ton of work making Warzone great. Fizzer or course has to be mentioned since he created the game. Deadman, ChrisCMU, Elkstone, and currently B with his clot work have contributed a lot with organizing events. Players like Cowboy and Plat have kept things interesting. Also I guess I should mention PS for all his videos.

For those of you who haven't seen this, it will definitely make you laugh if you have been on Warzone for awhile. It literally had me laughing when I first saw it. It's crazy this was back in 2013...I guess I'm an old player now, haha. Unfortunately, half of the memes in the thread don't work anymore.

Best Map: Elitist Africa. It's not the best looking map around, but it was by far the most innovative and started a whole new genre of maps.
