FWIW I really like the current colour scheme. Please don't suddenly change to something radically different. I think the reds and blacks and whites (and little dabs of blue) are working great for a wargame site. It just fits.
That said, a design overhaul definitely wouldn't hurt. Especially concerning usability it's kind of a mess right now to be honest. We've obviously gotten used to it, but just think of the number of clicks it takes to get to the clan forum. Now it might be just my two clans but no wonder the clan forums are hardly used at all - as opposed to mail, which is so much easier to reach. Or think of the chat.
A lot of the features WL has are practically buried by the clunky interface we have right now. I'd even suggest this as a pretty high priority issue for Fizzer, as I'm sure there are many people who get turned off by the site's sometimes really un-intuitive design and leave before they get to appreciate the merits of the game itself.
I think hellokiddies is going in the right direction with his idea. I'd choose a less sterile look (esp. the font) but I'm a lazy bum so I won't come up with any actual constructive feedback and just say I like it!
Love the new logo! And the site header looks better, too...flat is the new 3d, sort of. Maybe a sliding header? (Ooh, fancy.)
The maps themselves could use a bit of an upgrade, too, though this would probably be near impossible to implement (have you seen atwar-game.com's gameplay interface? It's awesome! [Especially the "mini-slider-dialog pop-up on hover"... it's so convenient])... The sliders are a bit clunky and honestly it would be great if there were an "evenly distribute units moving from this territory to these territories" via shift+click, or something.
I like the old logo, though it does have a bit of an early 2000's game look. I also feel this new flat style is also nice. Fizzer really just needs to fix the IOS app crashes since the new update.
The drop down menus would be nice for the Forum though.
while hellokiddies' designs are brilliant, my opinion is to keep the site as it is.
If we change the design of the tabs at the very top, then we might have to change the designs of other parts of this site, like the forums as well as they would clash, (the red and black against the blue) and i expect putting dropdown tabs and all new things may bring about new unexpected problems, if the only problem is 'its ugly' then i prefer to keep using this design since it works perfectly.
And thats what had been argued. Appearance over practicality. I feel like if anything the menu needs a change. The drop down menu seems like a very good idea to me. And with a forum tab, we may get a new set of forumers with brilliant ideas.
