Thoughts on the Njord vs. Beren game:

Not a fan of Njord's picks, South Africa especially seems dubious at best.

Edge at picks: Beren

Turn 1: Both play as expected.
Turn 2: Beren's failed 3v2 hurts. If that'd succeeded I'd have considered the game hugely in his favor at this point as he'd have had the momentum needed to prevent the blockade most likely.

Turn 3: I like that Beren hits Antarctica with more than the bare minimum in expectation of Njord having seen the tap from South America. I do not like that Njord relied on 3v2's in South Africa and tried to outdelay Beren, I think most good players are going to hit with more armies than necessary as Beren did so the armies are better spent ensuring South Africa is taken. Either that or blockade on turn 3 before Beren has a chance to hit Siple.

Turn 4:
Both play as expected.

Turn 5:
I feel Beren misplays by hitting so hard into Hawaii. It makes sense to head there, but not with such a big stack at this stage. I don't think there's any reason to believe Njord started in Central America as starting in both SA and CA with W Africa blockaded would have been very unwise.

A bit later I'm not fond of Beren's expansion. Turn 7 I think you should hit Tibet, not Myanmar, the intel you gain is worth more than 2 armies and both allow completion of SEA in the same # of turns.

Turn 8 I feel Tibet would have once again been vital to hit, moreso than Shaanxi, I think a triple border on one bonus is less scary than a border on one bonus and double border on another. Tibet also is a more aggressive move that takes initiative in scouting out the opponents location.

Turn 10 I think Njord should hit Qinghai first order to protect Central Russia.

Turn 11: I really don't feel Njord's turn 10 was as bad as he makes it out to be, but I think his turn 11 is atrocious.

You can't just not even attempt to defend CR, and only hit EC after a OD card. You were so much better off trying to hit EC before Beren could take it, or defending against an attack in EC, and at the very least make a token defense in ER. Trying to break CA is cool and all, but if you keep EC broken, and break Indo while defending CR you win. It doesn't even matter if Beren breaks SA and defends CA. He'd have CA, Aus, 14 income vs. your 12, but you'd win off sheer position.

At the boot there's no doubt in my mind that Beren's won. 2 turns before the boot I'd have probably given the edge to Njord.

Outlaws win again!! Equalling the scores at 7-7 with Aoc and Bonsai beating Adresso and PJ017.

ONE! Can't afford to slip the team games to Outlaws. They will need a win in team games to keep their advantage from 1v1s safe.

I predict they win 3v3 EA and Strat 2v2, but Outlaws wins szeurope.

That seems wrong. Lets pretend the following results happen:

One wins every 2v2, Outlaws wins every 3v3, that's 6 points each.

The 1v1's can then let a team hit 13 and still lose.

Example:

1v1 1: 2-1
1v1 2: 2-1
1v1 3: 2-1
1v1 4: 2-1
1v1 5: 1-2
1v1 6: 1-2


The winning team in that scenario has 12 points, and then 10 from 1v1's. while the other team gets 8 points.

final score: 22-20

Definitely not 16-14.

Platinum says each 1v1 is 2 points for the series initially, which would make it be 20-16.

Then later it says:

Correction:
6x 1v1, best of 3, 1 point per won game (will be 2-0 or 2-1)

That would make it be 22-20.

In any of the scenarios though the loser surpasses 12 points.

That seems right, that there can be a total of 30 points awarded, just not more than 24 to any clan. A sweep would be 24-0, but 13 doesn't guarantee a win.

Somehow I added 12 for each team for the 2v2's and 3v3's rather than splitting 12.

So, yeah, max of 30 points aware total, max of 24 to a single clan, so rather than 13 being a majority win, 16 is.

Nauzhror proves right in his Szeuorpe prediction. Outlaws (Plat + Odin) win their 2nd games on the clan battle in team games against Malakkan and Don.

With Africa being 3 points, It could be so important because if Outlaws win it. It's a 6 point cushion with not so many games left requiring ONE! To nearly win all.

It's now Outlaws 10 - ONE! 7 points.
