First lost for Blitz, so there are no clans with a perfect score anymore.

It's still early, but for now seems that the candidates for promotion are ONE, blitz and 101 (they have less points, but less games finished).
VIW and REGL are in the middle part, and not so far Sninja. Those three will, probably, be fighting for not being relegated.
And stahl is in last place being the 2nd clan with more finished games, that doesn't seems good to them, the boots were harmful. They have time to recover though.

For now thing are, more or less, as I though they would go, but as I said, it's still early.

Idk if it's very informative to use points earned at this stage to make a ranking, for example 101st is 5th but has a 3-1 record behind two clans that are 4-4.

I think that we won't be able to see a good picture of the ranking before every clan has 20-25 games completed.

That's why I write the max.points and win rate classifications too. In fact, my comments took this into account more than the points.

I watched your stream a bit. It was pretty nice commentary from you two, both funny and especially in case of wakanarai it also made quite some sense in terms of gameplay talk.

i think showing the leaderboard by points won, like it is now is the best way to show the scoreboard. You have all the additional information - max points - win/losses - winrate added...

Alternative, here's another method-

1. Reweight for opponent pool so far:
Get the average (mean) success rate (points won / points contested) against all other clans for each clan, using 50% or a calculation based on overall success rates for clans that have not yet faced each other

2. Reweight for pace of play:
Get the total # of points contested so far, split them evenly between clans, and then multiply by the success rate

You can just rank the clans by the new points. You could also do this without reweighting the success rate and just adjusting for the pace of play so clans that compete faster than others won't be at an advantage.

I don't want to add new variable, more work to do :P But the success rate againts each clan...I could use it to do a review time to time, when this is more advanced.

By the way, if I understood you right, your nº 2 method is exactly the same as the win rate ^^U

It is, that's why I don't use them separately. I already have a sheet that does this, if you're willing to make minor edits and log each game individually.

Success rate also tends to strongly favor or strongly disfavor clans that have played the fewest games, so that's why I make the first adjustment.

Feel free to add updates yourself if you think you can better them, no one is stopping you ;)

Although it would be cool if you could continually edit the first forum post to contain the scores so I don't have to go to last reply and scroll through to find the latest score every time :)

I like statistics as much as anyone else, but I think points won, max possible and current record/win rate pretty much explain what you need to know.

Not quite. Especially while the season's still progressing, it's also worthwhile to have some idea of strength of schedule. A 7-0 start means different things if 4 of those games were against DARKLORDS or against Apex. You don't need any complex adjustments to account for that either.

It's kind of like basketball or any other professional sport. You can tell a lot of what a player's or team's performance was like based on just a few simple stats like points, points allowed, shooting percentage. But those still miss some key elements, and that's why we also track things like pace, rebounds, assists, +/-, eFG%, ORB vs. DRB, steals, blocks, turnovers and generate aggregated stats like strength of schedule, Offensive and Defensive Rating or even Elo/wackier systems like CARM-ELO. That's all so you can properly extract what you learned from a set of performances in a way that gives you enough insight to really apply it to a set of future performances and also figure out- for example- how bad a loss or loss streak is and how well a team's actually doing at any given moment. In CL, since teams tend to sometimes cluster within +/- 5% of each other for win rates, it's pretty worthwhile to figure out which of these identical-looking win rates indicates a superior performance.
