I am Polish and I have bought membership solely as a thank you gesture towards Fizzer ( all right, not solely - I was suspecting that he will move in future to monthly payments hence I've judged lifetime membership as a good investment ).
I have a nephew who is really good at programming even though he is only 15 - I've been helping him financially in various projects and I know a little how hard it is to start something like Warlight.
I love strategy games, seen, played many of them and Warlight is one of the most exiting projects and certainly the most bugfree one.Bravo Fizzer!
I live right now in Northern Ireland and because of that paying $30 is really not a problem to me. If I was still living in Poland I would have to refrain from becoming a member - it would be to costly.
I strongly disagree with bostonfred - members are not better, they are not elite , some even are not active. On the other hand everyone who becomes a member automatically earns a little extra respect from me for supporting this indie project with his money.

I agree with almost everything the members have said so far, which pretty much proves my point.

bostonfred would you agree with following statement?
You can't control what country you were born in, but you can control whether you're a Harvard graduate. That's why it's a much more meaningful way to categorize people. I'm sure there are plenty of good people here from plenty of countries.Harvard graduates are just better.

An excellent question. (I probably could have predicted that by the M next to your name).
No. I know plenty of people who tried to get in to Harvard. Not all of them did.
I don't know anybody who tried to become a member, but were rejected. Some guys tried to win one by playing in a tourney here or there, but they still have the option to buy one.

i personally bought the membership because i have played this game for years now for free and i am thankful that Randy took as much time as he did to create it and feel its the least i can do to pay $30 for years of entertainment. I dont feel more important because of a silly membership in a game and i doubt anyone else does. you do realize that your complaints consistantly reveal you insecurities.

bostonfred:
Thanks for the compliment.
Would you then describe those who tried to get to Harvard and got rejected as better, than those which never even tried, because they knew they could not afford it?
There are many people here which would like to be members, but can not afford it.
I think that making a priori assessments of people based on wealth is unfair, hurtful and unjustifiable.
This site is growing steadily and sooner or later we will have a member who is as controversial as Qaddafi. This person, lets call him Pol Pot, will take your statement that members are better and make use of it: treat non-members like garbage or worse. Do you really want that?

That sounds pretty serious. I'd hate to have that on my conscience.
