He means 'Year 8' in the real world... nah, sorry. I only did British, English, Central European, Russian, 1920s America, DRC, and First Gulf War history in school. Anything earlier than 1800 is all English history.

this is usefull too, but ancient history is also good.
In our school system (i will refer for highschool ), in 9th grade we study history from 3000BC to 1648 AD.(generalised of course ), in 10th grade we study from 1648 to present.
11th and 12th grade we make romanian history (+ an optional course about the Royal Family of Romania )

9th Grade is American and Canadian 14 and 15 year olds, we do Prehistory to 1500-ish

Since we do not know the exact date, we celebrate the same day that Constantine said still instead of guessing, as common sense would dictate.
