Well, this is not "the real world" where players get paid better in group B than in group D, I guess the point is to climb the ladder for kind of bragging rights of being in group A and a chance to fight better players? You can't fall below group C anyhow, and the only drawback of a likely few extra losses in group A is a bit worse 1v1 stats, but if you care that much about it why bother with a tourney which has other competitive players?

For season 1 rules are IMHO perfect, for future seasons when players will be better sorted maybe adjust a bit and demote max 1 player from A to C?

No you move up 1-2 groups (if at bottom) and if towards top you move up 1.

Demotions drop you down 1 leage thats simple....



Look at the other P/R league. Its on its 17th season so you might find its rules helpful.

BTW, need a tie-breaking rule, e.g. a mini tourney (in group B there may be a 3-way tie, where player A loses to player B, B to C and C to A, and they all win all their other matches), With current rules this is not a problem as top 3 progress to the same group, but need a rule for the future

Thanks Master Turtle, I've had a good look at their rules and will probably adopt the tie-break rules they use.

The P/R I have proposed is for season 1 only, as this is really a setting-up season. For future seasons, you will only be able to promote 1 group/relegate 1 group.

I agree that a separate tournament to decided League Champion would delay the season, however, this could actually be played during the course of the next season. If everyone is happy with the Group A champion being League Champion, then that's what we'll have. This was once again mainly for season 1 so that those players not assigned to Group A would have an equal chance of winning.

Dont have a seperate champion... Maybe just wait 3 seasons or something to start giving out champion titles. (Give enough seasons for whoever is in lowest group to take 1st each time and be champion) That is the point when league champion should be used.


OR..... Do it like the other P/R. Every group winner is a league champion got season 1. Promotions get done slightly different and then from there on Group A winner will always be league champ.

I have decided to adopt the rules used in the Promotion/Relegation League, as they are well thought out and seem fair. Here is a link to their thread for those who aren't aware of that league:

As we have larger groups (10 rather than 7 per group) there will be 3 promotions and 3 relegations in each group rather than 2. However, this will only start in Season 2. For Season 1, P/R will stay as written above.

Boot times will remain at 3 days, and you will still play 5 games at once, but starting next season vacations will be honoured.

New players will start in Group E, and inactive players will only be able to re-enter the league in the bottom group.

Pantelas, The best, and Kevin Turner will remain in Group B, finishing 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively. (Kevin Turner has tie-break over alpha83) alpha83 finishes 7th and will take part in Group C next season along side boorzuur and Auburn Meadow. DanetDuo's loss to Auburn meadow means he will double-relegate to Group D.

Congratulations to Philip B' for winning Group B. Well done to mslasm and slydog384 who have also qualified for Group A. Pantelas narrowly missed promotion due to the loss against slydog384, and will remain in Group B alongside The best and Kevin Turner, who just scraped in with a win over alpha83. Pink pulling out of Group A has changed P/R a little, so only 1 player will double-relegate instead of 2. Auburn Meadow's win against DanetDuo means DanetDuo will double-relegate to Group D. Auburn Meadow, boorzuur, and alpha83 will relegate to Group C.

With Pink's withdrawal from Group A, P/R will be affected. I'll outline the changes in bold

Group A: (after Pink's removal) Top 5 stay in Group A. 6th-8th relegate to Group B. 9th only (not 9th-10th) double-relegates to Group C.

Group B: Top 3 promote to Group A. 4th-6th stay in Group B. 7th-9th (not 7th-8th) relegate to Group C. 10th only (not 9th-10th) double-relegates to Group D.

Qualifying Group 1 & 2: (same applies to both)
1st promotes to Group A. 2nd-3rd promote to Group B. 4th-6th move to Group C. 7th-10th move to Group D. The 11th placed player with best results will also take part in Group D next season, with the other 11th place getter moving to Group E.

This updated P/R ensures that Groups A, B, C, & D each has 10 players.

Edit: I tried to adapt the P/R so as not to affect promotions. Only relegations have been affected, and less players will be relegated than planned. This was the fairest adaptation I could think of in response to Pink's withdrawal.

I think in new seasons you should add the players in worse division. ( Like the original p/r league).
