My problem with local deployments is that, at least in the games I've played, the turns take longer and there are more turns in a game. I'm all for shorter games without a lot of standardised attacks/transfers (e.g. expanding into neutrals, transferring armies) otherwise I get bored. It's for this reason that I don't play many large maps and it is for this reason why I don't like to play much local deployment.

I think light fog is good to use with local deployment because it shortens the time it takes someone to surrender and shortens the game. However, light fog destroys much of the game that I enjoy.

I haven't played any local deployment games yet, but I do have an idea of how it works. It is a bit easier to defend in LD games, still though the principle of "defence being the hard job" is 100% valid, and with airlifts on it becomes even harder, exactly because nobody will be able to defend against a big airlift. Let's see a theoretical example.

Player A owns all of bonus A, while player B owns all of bonus B, and the two bonuses are next to each other. The two players have identical total income and the two bonuses are worth the same number of armies. Player A airlifts like 2000 armies right next to Player's B 500-army stack. How will Player B defend with 500something armies against 2000+? Can someone answer this for me? I think this is the moment when Player B thinks "Why did I join an LD game with airlift cards?"...

That is true. The reverse is that playing the airlift card breaks that players supply chain. Not a big disadvantage compared to the advantage to the player using the card. But it is something.

The best way to play the card imo would be from a territory bordering other bonuses that you own. Maximizing the armies you can deploy to that area.

Pilota you have very bad sense, if someone has a 2000 stack and the other a 500 stack, assuming the game isnt already over, then player B had 1500 armies elsewhere expanding or breaking player A's bonsues elsewhere...

I like Pooh's idea that the number of airlifted armies should be limited.

[REGL]*hedja*{CS} you have very bad sense, if someone chooses to do an airlift of that size at cost of other bonuses, it means that the bonus they will attempt to break is way more important than the ones they may leave at risk. What's more, it's not so standard that they 'll have to leave any bonuses at risk. It is possible, but not standard.

So you basically insulted me with ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. With whatever this could mean. I will try and make sure that you will face the consequences.

For your terrible sin of insulting the great Pilota Stradale, you will have to face the mighty consequences in store for you. Tremble in fear while you still can!

Pulsey, your irony is aimless. I never pretended to be someone special. In fact, I think that everyone should react like this against unreasonable insults. Try to come to my position... Try to imagine that someone insults you for no reason. How would you react?

Or better ask... Would you react at all?

I wouldn't react atll.

Perhaps I would react if it was a personal insult, but here, this insult was about gameplay, if it was even an insult at all.

Honestly, i think Hedja is correct here.

If you cant take an insult about having bad sense at a game, you have problems.

You can airlift defenders against that stack that just got airlifted in .....

Maybe killrates can be adjusted, 50%/50% or 70%/80% or just 65%/70%

I am 23-0 in local deployment right now. You don't need airlifts. You just need to know how to play

At last, this issue has just been proved to be a matter of opinion. Therefore, insults are UNACCEPTABLE. So, let's make it in 2-Euro coins.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEALING WITH MATTERS OF OPINION

1)Do not try to impose your opinion on those who disagree with it.

2)Do not insult or be ironic with people who disagree with you.

When you don't follow these simple instructions, how exactly do you expect people to not react? Does anyone actually think that people are oxes?

If someone thinks he's an ox, then OK, go ahead, leave your computer and go where you belong. But if you want to stay in this community, you will have to be treated as a person... Need me to draw it? Oh snap, I only have blue paint. The one that matches the sea colour.

1st of all, why would your game have stacks of 2000, you are using a map too large to be good for LD or simply with awful bonus values...
2nd if all of Player A's moveable armies are now on that 1 border, then it will be easy for Player B to expand elsewhere with the extra 1500, and use it to break the other bonsues. You can't assume that 1 border is so important that Player A would have all troop and Player B only 25%, is must not be that important or Player B is a noob (do you happen to be player B?)

I happen to be none of these players. I 've made clear that I 've never played LD, but I just wanted to present a thought. Even if it's entirely wrong, you have no right to insult me like that. And no reason, most of all. I wonder how you still haven't been banned.

Pulsey, you 're still being ironic while I explained why you aren't supposed to be that way. Do you really remember me claiming anything about mighty powers or anything like that? I simply expressed my expectation upon anyone responsible to ban this player. Can someone tell me who is supposed to be handling the reports? The reason why I am asking this is very simple. That person is not doing his job. Handling the complaints properly is much more important than most people seem to think. So the aim of expressing my complaints is to help improve this community. Is a bad community exactly what you want? Is it what the site owner wants? I guess not.

And now tell me, Pulsey, how is this related to any "mighty powers" I am supposed by you to possess? Think before you post, especially when your aim is to be ironic.

...

After a second thought, I think you two are good friends of that irresponsible person who is supposed to be handling the reports in this community. But where do you all think we are? In Greece? Sorry guys but I am in no way Greek. All I want is justice, and in this case the only way for this is to see that you both got banned, something though that hasn't happened yet, making in pretty obvious that, in this community, under-the-table connections matter more than they should. But no, I won't keep my mouth shut. Exactly as I myself do my job properly, I also expect all other people to understand why it's best to be properly professional. And I will not stop until all the oxes of your kind take the coin in. It's so freakin' simple. It's not at all my fault if you two are less educated than a neanderthal. Report me for offensive language if you like. The choice of the guy in the right position will show his intentions for this poor community. He bans you two, he cares. He bans me, he doesn't care. He bans nobody, we 're gonna laugh a lot. He bans all of us, he just wants to show that he cares. Whatever you two tell me from now on is of no use. It has no meaning for me to try more for you two. I 've done my part.

pilota, you're an angry, spoiled child. Getting angry and demanding hedja to be punished when he's only commented about your lack of sense in your gameplay is just silly. Grow up and relax.

No, I normally am a calm person. But people who don't even try to get into the other's position get on my nerves in no time. Is this clear?

As for not having sense in my gameplay, well, that's a big discussion. Nobody can spout things like that so easily as hedja and YOU PERSONALLY love to do. I am in no way among the best players of this game, but this is no reason for you or hedge or any other ox to insult me (or any other player in my position).
